About the Diploma registry

The Diploma registry is a Norwegian service developed by Sikt - Norwegian Agency for Shared Services in Education and Research (formerly Unit – The Norwegian Directorate for ICT and Joint Services in Higher Education and Research), commissioned by the Norwegian Ministry of education and Research.

History

In 2011 the Ministry of Education and Research in Norway gave the University Center for Information Technology, at the University of Oslo, the responsibility to write a specification for a digital diploma registry. A working group was established and the specification was handed over to the ministry in January 2013. The development started in 2015, and the first version of the Diploma Registry was put in production January 17 2017.

International cooperation

The Diploma registry has been developed in cooperation with the Erasmus+ project called EMREX.

Providers of HR-systems can connect their service with the Diploma Registry. We are happy to assist you in making the necessary adjustments. Please do not hesitate to contact us!

Test users

The Diploma Portal has several openly avalible test users that anyone who wants to test the Diploma Portral can use. The data on the testusers can vary from day to day, and there are no garatnees that the test users will contain any data. If you need a test user not openly avalible for the public, please contact us at kontakt@sikt.no and we will try to provide you a test user for a certain time period.

Using the test users

We recommend that all data given to test users is anonymized. We also recommend this even when given a not publicly avalible test user. A non-exhaustive list of fields to potentially anonymize: name, national identifier, name of the thesis and grades. Vi also recommend that you make new Diploma Supplements and Digital Diplomas before making these data avalible for a test user.
